My Heart Always Knows
Do you remember all the things they used to say
While others watched and children played
Not for the moment, nor for the day
Living life in every way
Every time my feet touch the ground
And still there is rhythm without a sound
Time reflects and yet memories remain
We are like the links within a chain
That sweeps among the heavens with the falling rain
What heart I hold, and I hold near
Even when you are here
My heart rings in the loudest cheer
And I know there is no need to fear
Year after year, and tear after tear
My heart always knows you’re near
Cherished be these tender moments that we share
And with my love to show I care
Even when it’s cold out there
My heart is yours and yours to share
This reminds me of Elizabeth B. Browning...so romantic. Beautiful poem!
