Abuse in the eyes of an abuser.
I wrote this poem when I was 16 for my sister. She has done an excellent job of turning her life around.
Bravo Tab.

“Hello I’ve come to meet you

I have something to explain

The other night I fumbled

I didn’t mean to cause any pain

So I bought you these here flowers

To do with them what you do

I felt bad the other night

And these will prove my love to you

I bought you this here necklace

With a topaz colored blue

All these things I buy

To show that I love you”

As two days pass he comes again

As soulful as can be

He holds some flowers in his hands

And he’s crouched down on his knee

“Hello I’ve come to meet you

I have something to explain

Two days ago I fumbled

I didn’t mean to cause any pain

So I bought you these here flowers

All the rest is just the same

After all he’s just a man

Who’s there to take the blame

Thee weeks later he comes again

Heart broken from his wife

For she was just a young one

And he should not have taken her life

Over her grave he kneeled

With flowers in his hand

“Hello I’ve come to meet you

I have something to explain

Three weeks ago I fumbled

I didn’t mean to cause any pain

So I brought you these here flowers

And I’ll set them on your grave

So always you’ll remember

Love has come your way

And I brought you this here ribbon

Made of the color blue

So always you’ll remember

That my love was true ”.

Great poem! Quite effective with the narrator being the abuser. This is justifyingly satirical and draws blood.

Oh my -dumb struck-
This brings out my caveman instincts.
It is wonderful to hear she has a contented life and is now free..
You're a power house for her..

tragic words that are heard and believed by so many abused women. This is very well written. I look forward to reading more of your works!

Very, very sad reading. I think you've shown how it is, though. How confusing it must be for a child or even an adult to be treated in such a warped manner. God help the abused and give them wisdom to gain freedom, forgiveness and finally, healing.
Good work.

Ah Chrissy, you've brought tears to my eyes this morning reading this poem. Eyes through the eyes of an abuser...you've captured this well. No excuse for abuse of any kind, but that doesn't stop it, abuse goes on everyday in our society, many whom we would never dream endures abuse and keeps it hidden well, just as many are the abuser and keeps that well hidden from the outside world, and him or herself for they do not see their own evil doings. Great write, congrats to your sister and you. You are a strong lady my friend! Enjoyed this write very much!
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

Evil always excuses itself by thinking it did the right thing but in the wrong manner. Great poem. Victor

Crissy,

Very good capture. The abuser never seems to remember the previous excuses or promises they made. The next time is only a heartbeat away.
