                                                           where do poems live
                                                           and do they ever die

poems dwell where echoes live
poems dwell in old guitars
poems dwell in distant clouds
poems dwell beyond the stars

poems dwell in children's joy
poems dwell in baby's eyes
poems dwell in a smile
poems dwell in butterflies

poems dwell in lightning's flash
poems dwell in ocean waves
poems dwell in sad, sad songs
poems dwell in light or caves

poems dwell in rainbow hues
poems dwell in deepest pain
poems dwell in tragedy
poems dwell in sun and rain

poems dwell within your heart
poems dwell inside of you
poems dwell in outer space
poems dwell where poems do

poems dwell in puppy dogs
poems dwell in eagle's wings
poems dwell in budding trees
poems dwell in many things

poems dwell in sunset reds
poems dwell in pearly shells
poems dwell in faeirie lands
and that is where poems dwell.

                                                       i know where poems live
                                                       but do poems ever die

as long as there are words
as long as there is inspiration
as long as there are paper and pen
as long as there are authors
as long as there are books
as long as there are readers

there will be poems
and the poems will never die
