"STRUCK BY A POEM" ~~~~~~ Lightning lances down from darkening skies Striking the heart of a Muse-- The power realeased in a storm of words As energy is infused-- ~~~ Thunder pulls the words from the Poet's soul And plants them onto the page-- They will not survive unless they are read That's when their roots will engage-- ~~~ The word fall is drumming a rhythmic chant Meter partners up with rhyme-- Word storms are needed when the soul gets stale They're needed to cleanse the grime-- ~~~ Tornadoes of fury, lights of beauty Emerge as the Poet weeps-- One last bolt from the blue, the storm then ends Once more, the Muse goes to sleep-- ~~~~~~ (C) Copy written, June 26, 2004, by Karla Dorman.
Frame it Girl! This is by far the MOST strongest piece I can say I've ever read. Perhaps it's because I adore watching different forms of lightning (from afar, of course). This is a thunderous poem.

WOW Karla....this was really well done....I like the "feelings" expressed - my favorite writing days are the rainy ones - just find it soothing and inspirational to hear the raindrops on the window and roof......Nice work !

Well Karla, should I be surprised that you have written something about a storm?
