"IT IS A SICKNESS"
~.~
It is a sickness,
It comes on like a fever,
A burning fire
That can only be quenched
With ink, sweat and tears.
~.~
It's a malady.
This CONDITION I now have.
Affecting my sleep...
What do you mean, "social life?"
I DO NOT HAVE ONE!!!!!!
~.~
Words!  I'm an addict!
I can't get enough of them!
But what good are they
To a Poet who can't write?
They are useless things.
~.~
Strict competition
With no one except myself.
Seeing if I can
Top my previous effort
To make it "BET-ter."
~.~
I have discovered
That poetry is for fools.
I'm the biggest one
For believing I could write.
What a fool I've been.

I gave words my all.
What did they give in return?
Shattered dreams and hopes.
I THOUGHT WRITING WAS MY LIFE.
Don't call me "Poet.".
~.~

You have come a long way and are not too sure of yourself here it seems. But the words did come from your heart. You can write, and we enjoy your poetry too. Very much, hoping a social life is coming your way, but you do help us people by the things you say and write. Hugs go out to you today from me. Lois C.

Karla look on the left side of this board I tell us all that you really believe what you just wrote!!!
You have got to not be serious
stories, articles, and poetry!!!
who's standard are you going by?
You are a poet one of the most loved here
and you just really need to understand that and get it through
your head...no we don't always write something that "WE" think is magical but no-one does really the most important thing though is that we contiue to write...the greats wrote thousands and thousands of things but only a handful has come to light
keep writing dear Poetess

Big Love Ball coming your way
lol silly you the balls too big for you to try and duck.....

We are our own worst critics, Karla. Do you how many times I've said: "I'm not writing another word?" And just out of that sentence a 7,000 word short story comes out -- give it a rest. You're a good poet. Keep at it!!!!

Carmen :-)

Karla dear, you have more talent in your right pinkie finger than alot of us have in both hands AND a brain. You ARE a poet, and a darn great one. This is a wonderfully crafted piece, despite your self criticism. I love your work. And the writer behind the work ain't bad either! Your friend, Michelle

Karla, Girl! Go back to bed and fall out on the other side! You know as well as I do that you are just having a bad time of it right now. It will all work out in the long run and you'll be right back to writing! Not questioning your talents..not digging up the remnants of earlier writes.
besides... I'll call you Poet if I wanna"! *grin*
You Ma'am are now a Texan! Suck it up!
I'm just messin' wif ya!
You are a poet..and a very talented one at that. We all have these same problems from time to time, but one day we wake up and the foggy clouds are gone again and we can create better than ever before. Almost like being hung in between cycles.
Smile Karla...things will be better before ya know it!

Well Poet, step back and look
at this wonderful write you just did
writing is but a pen away
I do it best when I am blocked
Why?
because I write about my feelings while blocked
there is always something to write about
just place a pen in your hand.....
