Don't EVER doubt your talents as a writer; you have achieved so much in the time since you joined AD, and I have been honored to witness your growth as a writer and poet! I love how you write, and I only wish I could write half as well as you do! Don't ever doubt your talents, and don't be so hard on yourself! Let the Lord help; He helps me! Without Him, I couldn't do it; maybe you need to lean on Him and ask for His help! Don't ever be afraid to ask Him for help!! Very well done; brava!!

What "talent alone?" You have scads more talent than half the poets I know, then again, they have their own type of talent too...we all have something...finding out what it is, that is the problem...ED

Your writing is always so good and so real and heartfelt. I'm soooo guilty that I have not been up to writing anything. I get distracted very easily especially now I have new stress at work and I have to think about it in the evening when I get home. That is why under such circumstances that sometimes it is difficult for me to be inspired.
Karla, I hope you are not like me. You are well-liked in the den. There are so many in the den who look foward to reading you everyday.
It is hard being a poet in this world, which seems a wasteland. However, I almost always read your poems even when I am too pressed for time to comment on everybody's AND your poems are absolutely inspiring and point me always back to those shining northern lights. Don't lose heart, Karla. And you are in my prayers tonight. We all just have to hold each other up now and then, right? Dawn
Karla dear...listen to Jerry, Eileen, and now your friend Michelle. Knock it off! You have no idea now many people read our work...and how much good we are able to do by reaching one person at a time. Your talent was placed there for a reason. Continue to use it, allow it to be guided by God for His greater purpose. When I post something that I'm passionate about, I pray before I do it. If even one person is helped by reading what I write then I consider the effort a success and give Him the glory. And I don't think that success is measured by chapbooks, magazine printings etc. In the long run, our success is measured by a much higher standard...how did we use our talents to benefit those around us? You're doing the right thing dear. Keep doing it. I'm reading, and I know others are too. Much love, Michelle
Karla this is an excellent poem on the topic. However, I agree with Jerry! You have to stop looking for perfection which is attributed to God only.;-) There comes a time when the poet must go within and forget what others may think, but keep writing until you are out of the doldrums.You're in my prayers!
