Tell me, what makes your god any better than mine? If yours is anything like mine, shame on the both of us. No wonder he's pissed: We are stiffnecked, unrepetant: In his name, we wage holy wars meant to purge the world of heretics and infidels; we pass judgement; we talk behind his back, and get drunk on holy wine; we consort with demons and invite them to come in and defile the sacred place; we get rich off his goodness while taking the last dollar out of the tattered pockets of the poor who support us; we shame and bludgeon the innocence out of the children that he gave to us; we believe science tells us the absolute truth; we sin with every breath; we twist his words to suit us; we even became Creator by choosing the sex of our test tube babies and cloned animals because his weren't good enough. And do not get me started on what we've done to wreck the planet and the climate. We even stole his sovereignty: We now decide (not him) who lives and who will die. Why even have a god when we took the job away from him?
much truth rings in this hard-hitting, powerful piece. One must wonder what God must be thinking when He has to look at the pestilence and chaos reigning on our Earth...I know He must be very hurt and angry at the callousness of mankind. Very well done; keep up the solid writing! BRAVA!

Some things are worth ranting about. But why do people always assume god is male??? God is neither gender. God is ... period.
If this is a rant then it is one that a lot of people share with you and maybe we should all rant it a little louder. Good write,

The title is perfect, Karla! It fits and it suits your thoughts... a clever mind you have, indeed.
We must be careful these days not to trust entirely the rhetoric and the spin we hear daily.
"we believe science tells us

If you think about this and take it to heart, it makes an awful lot of people look bad, ungodly, perhaps, doesn't it? In fact, scientists are the first to tell you that nothing in science is absolute... always spoken of as theory. I saw a marvelous scientist on Tucker Carlson's show a while back who finally was able to explain to me how the theory of evolution and the creation by god are NOT separate... not at all opposites. Tucker is a conservative, I'm a liberal, and he was as happy to learn this as I was. I feared that evolution was supposed to be IN PLACE OF creation and God. Nope!
Now... how do we get the rest of these people to learn. Who knows? It could actually lead to bringing people back together. Those who believe what they're told about this myth need to find out for themselves. I was thrilled! Wonderful, gentle rant, even humorous... proving again that we reach more people's hearts and souls through humor than hatred. You are a magical woman, Ms. Karla. katy xox
Amen to all you said, Karla. I feel that some things have gotten out of control and should be left to develop as they were meant to happen, whether we like it or not.
