Homeless Wanderer

The storm, restless, roams through the
skies, like a dog searching for
a place to rest its head.  Hear
it growling as it implores,
"Let me stay."  But it moves on,
a homeless wanderer.  Tail
tucked between its legs, it cries,
lost, lonely, weary and frail.

Being alone is terrible, but you know what is worse...when you are with people all the time and you still feel alone. Been there before. This is a wonderful write, I love animals and feel compelled to buy them cheeseburgers or a pack of bologna or a can of dog food, I can't sleep at night if I think they are wondering hungry, I could never understand how one human being can pass up another human in need, how do people sleep at night or live with their self? You have penned a terrific write gives one much to think about. I enjoy all of your work....keep writing I'll keep reading.
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

Quite interesting analogy here.. although today's storm could have implored all day and no one would have invited it... Nice work here!

Must be the tail-end of the storm you have in mind here, Karla... great metaphor and hope that that Black Dog continues to slink away, even if it is somewhat reluctantly and growling and grumblin as it goes... Very compassionate for one who has a dread fear of its teeth!! :)) LOL K xx
