Shame how we treat those who defend our shores...God bless our men and women who have ever put on a uniform for our freedoms. As a veteran, I salute and thank you.
"World of Hurt" ~~~~~~~~~~~ open their minds; see the world of hurt, reminders of wounds fresh from the battlefield and return'd home, present'd in g l a r i n g color, commercial- free: memories of dodging bullets of death and pain, bombs stash'd in vehicles, conceal'd in clothing, roll'd thru doorways to !! detonate !! their world of hurt: see it mirror'd in hospital wards, in thousands of eyes glaz'd with shock, purpl'd hearts, fallen heroes, dying more and more each day, with their tokens brought back from their world of hurt: see it when they come home to red/white/blue shores of angry protesters who know n o t h i n g of sacrifice, of being in a world of hurt... it seems we've been here, before.
We ought to hang our heads in shame for how we treat our veterans who are only fighting to defend our freedom and way of life. If these protestors don't like it, send THEM to Iraq; let them fight! A powerful, call to arms; you made many vets appreciate the service you gave, and I salute you! BRAVA~

I commend you for this write...I wonder if those who are protesting realize what would have or could have happened to America after the 9-11 attacks had our soldiers went over to protect us. I know I feel safer knowing that someone cares enough to volunteer thier life to protect ours...and you know that's the other thing, there hasn't been a draft, all of our soldiers are there by their choice. If they are not complaining why should anyone else. I agree with Lena...May God Bless those who care enough and love our country enough to fight for justice and freedom...again, I say a great and appropriate write.

Yep and these tragic deaths of terrorism reminds me of Viet Nam and the way women and children were used as fodder for the Communist cause.

A tribute worthy of those that die to protect us, lose so much family time , miss loved ones, for our safty this is strong powerful emotion expressed thank you God Bless those that serve us.....
A good solide write Karla that rings true no matter what country you reside in, I have watched wars come and go in my life time, and they are never pretty. The leaders make the decisions to go to war but it is the soldier, sailor and airmen who unquestionably pay the cost of it. It is also a sad fact that the average age of those who actually fight is 25 years old. Too young often to even be away from home but away they go in the name of freedom. These men and women earn the respect and thanks they are given or should be given by all
