Three minute poem. A rant.

... being poor, like being killed
over and over;
dying a slow death each and
ev'ry day.  Buried
under regulations that
help illegals and
don't include those who really
need it.  Try living
on nothing; people could starve
and no one would come
to the funeral.  When you're
poor, they leave you to
rot in Potter's field with no
headstone to mark your
place:  one of the forgotten.

Karla, I don't even want to get started on my thoughts on what they are alllowing with ILLEGALS. Potters field is such a lonesome place. Dank and empty, cept for the the last hopes and dreams that never hand a hand held out to them. I truly love this poem because in short, it's a sad reality that even sadder, never has to be. Nice writing.

Its a very sad trueism . Many are lost and forgotten as they try to eek out money from small incomes to survive.. This is America home of the free and the brave, land of opportunity! Some where along the way our country changed. So much has been lost ! The poor, elderly, vetrans, handicapped, homeless and those with low income have been swept under the rug . No one knows what its really like , till they have been there!. GREAT WRITE........M

Karla, this has touched me so, our country has too many American's living without. I often say, "There's so many in our country starving and no one is doing a thing about it,"...people look at me like I'm crazy. They haven't been to the areas in our Country that suffer every day without enough food to eat or clothes on their backs. Go to the Applachian areas, areas in Kentucky, and many other areas of the Country and you'll find poverty...plenty of it! I hope someone will read your poem and do something about it. God Bless You.

Your circumstances give you the insight to write powerful rants that show what is lacking in our world. Though you get the barest needs met, it is barely enough to survive on.Churches are mostly silent these days too, when it comes to helping. Compassion where art thou...

Eileen

Karla~

Try living on NOTHING as I wait for my disability to be approved. GRRR! I just thank GOD we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. We could be on the street; it's only by the grace of God that we're not. Still, it isn't easy, and you have expressed that well in this powerful, hardhitting rant. Sad when the richest nation in the world won't help its neediest citizens yet they are willing to help lawbreakers who shouldn't even be here in the first place. Soemthing is most definitely wrong here! Very well done; brava! Maybe one of these days someone will wake up and see what they are doing; God help us!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

I hear that those planted in the Potter's Field will bask in their mansions in heaven...forever known, forever raised higher!

A rant of carelessness and ignorance at the expense of a possible opportunity here on earth...

Enjoyed this one...

Alas, and the rich, grow ever richer. There used to be the poor, the middle class, and the rich in this country. But now, I think the middle class has almost become extinct. One is either poor or rich these days, and there ain't much in between.
