A Poet is no good, standing still ...

A Poet takes pictures
with pen and paper, a
reporter on the front
lines of life.  Detached, yet
faithful to capture each
and every detail.

(She stares, remembering
suddenly, escaping
into long forgotten
memories:  she's been here,
before.  A movie plays,
sound turned all the way up.)

((The Poet scribbled her
way out of this one, once.
Perhaps she can, again.
A Poet is no good,
standing still.  She must
be part of the action.))

She must have lived it to
put it to the page.  And
so, she writes, she feels, she
cries, she laughs, she hurts; she
has been there and is a
voice of authority.

The many passions of people are extreme but the passions of a poet surpasses that and animates one poem in a hundred different ways and that's TALENT!!!.
Bravo!

yes - and i remember the sharp snapshot poem you wrote on this theme that i liked very much - which i must now go and find and read again. There is a secret Island...(don't tell anyone)...where Swedish Hula Students and residents have a lot of fun, the main industry for export is our famous Pickle - the flavorsome Gherkin, and here, i am known as The Turtle, or turtlini, and as we are being raided by the Schmoo, a Hula-unsympathetic community from a neighbouring island who are after the secret pickling recipe, i am presently employed more as a spy, than as my usual peacetime role as the Islands Home Affairs correspondent. Keep up the good work Agent Dorman, we hardly ever stand still, except perhaps to set up and take the picture - it's a busy beautiful life! Nicky x

You are the poet escaping into forgotten memories and the one that talks with authority.
If you ever stand still...you will get roots and then, the thoughts will go nowhere with you.
Keep that pen moving!!!
