Ah, Karla, you got it out of your head and that gives you a certain "distance" to behold what you've written. When I have writer's block, nothing pours out on paper; yours did. I'd say that's something in your favor.

No, it's heartfelt and wonderful. Nothing from the heart is ever bad. You make me think and remember. Your poetry is grand. Your poems about the storms makes me remember why I live in GA of all places when I was born and raised in Gulfport, MS, played and have wonderful friends in New Orleans. With a smile like that and the words in your soul, jump starting the way you see the world around you...I think if you look you will find your muse not too far away. Hang in there Karla, we all have times like this and as someone pointed out to me, the mark of our power as poets and writers is the ability to use our writing to soothe our own souls so we can move back into reality again.

I really don't understand the anguish you are going through inside (or maybe I can!). It's not a bloody competition; but I write a poem; get 78 reviews on one I just throw together while YOU pour your heart/soul into your words. I know it seems like you don't get many reviews, but honey, you DO. YOU soar with your poetry. We might have a tv deal because of your words. How many others can say the same? I will NEVER reach your caliber or skill at what you do; look at this for instance. In less than five minutes you threw together a poem. A darn good one! It's not the worst poem ever written. YOU wrote it; to me that makes it truly beautiful! So THERE!

God has given you a Gift, a Gift for words. Don't throw it away. Don't let people's impressions or lack of reviews bother you so much, okay?? I love you. And so do many here!

Aah, you could get worse than this if you really tried. I know I could. Don't be depressed...hang in there, and everything else a friend should say to you. Most of all don't quit, don't quit, don't quit. I really get depressed, but I've decided I'm charged with surviving, and smiling anyway. It could be worse. Count your blessings. You could have met me before all those other guys, and we'd be crying together. That's one blessing you've had. Now move on to two, and do another poem.
