This is outstanding, Karla! Love your theme, and your phrases--
"Rain giggles in fits and starts"
"a child's innocent
laughter freckling the glasses
and tickling the nose."
and to top it all off, the last line "let's make this playtime."

Yeah and no storm drains... We were caught in a flash flood as I was drive the crew back from Dyess, somehow i knew that a car coming out of a turning was going to aquaplane, and it did, yet i took avasive action seconds before, saving us from doom, the weird thing is, although no-one thought we should be on the road, i found it exciting and miss the nightly storms....

This is how it happens out there, sun then splish spash splosh, boat req'd.... lol

Call the meteorologist...regardless of the rain, your writing puts a sunny smile with negative-turned-positive turns on so much we as humans take for granted.
