There is a mega industy that works to supply in image, all that which makes women look attractive to men, the imprint of womanly shapes comes from formulations in a young mans mind in his formitative years, growing up in Europe I first found woman on this condinent, unattractive and to slim, to me they looked as if medical intervention could help them, since beauty is in the eye of the observer, this is how I viewed them, but I am like most others influenced by the media and general millieu, and now have accepted the general norm presented first by the trent setters and then the followers, not that any of this helps the dead or near dead ones.

What you don't see are the insides when vitamin and mineral starvation twists them inside out. It's a deadly game as many a magazine artile will attest and the biggest thing is...it doesn't pertain to 99% opf the female population.

Right you are Karla! We all love beauty but, I thank God for those who know it is the spirit within from which real beauty comes. We don't have to be either obese or anorexic there is a middle ground which most of us are in and that should suffice;-)

Yep. La Belle said it . . . Real men want real women, not skeletons . . . How obscene is that? . . . Jeez!!!

In my profession we have what is called "Vanity Sizing", in the fashion industry the manufacturers place smaller sizes on clothing so women will feel as though they are skinnier than they really are. It is appalling, but they get away with it in order to reap the profits. I really don't know where this world is going, woman just need to be curvy woman like they were born to be. I am proud of my curves and I wouldn't give them up for anything!!!

It is sad, I agree. We have to make sure the younger generation can see what is inside counts way more than what is outside.

You got that right Karla and the truly sad part is that it is mostly the young who agonize over this and of course on the opposite side of the coin we have children and young adults struggling with obesity there seems to be no happy medium any more.

Karla, you are so true...these skinny models cause us to want to measure up to them and we starve ourselves to death. When I look into these skinny models eyes I see pure torture...probably haven't had a decent meal in years. I enjoyed this a lot...thanks for sharing such an important issue.

You're so right: no amount of makeup is going to hide the fact that dead is dead. Dead is the end of the road, the final stop. Sad what some women will do in the name of beauty! Amazing what those morticians can do. I have heard some folks at funerals say, "Doesn't she look good?" My first thought is always, no, she looks dead.
