Reading Jodi Picoult inspired this one.

Poem Artwork

...  dizzy with possibilities, rain, snow,
sun if she's in a playful mood.  Clouds
more fun:  like cotton candy, sticky on
the fingers, and they taste good, too!
She loves drawing ziggy-zaggy lines -
that's lightning, she tells me, making
noises in her throat (that's thunder).
With a psssssssh sound, she makes
like rain.  Where's the wind, I ask her;
she rolls her eyes and puffs out her
cheeks - there it is, captured behind
her lips.  And where's the sun?  She
arcs her arms around my neck and
already I know the answer:  in my arms.

Excellent poem showing the wisdom and creativity of the young. Loved the last lines:

And where's the sun? She
arcs her arms around my neck and
already I know the answer: in my arms.

Another great analogy of nature as the young and often sassy lady who likes the center stage.
