And the V.A. says nothing's wrong: learn to live with it ...

A nerve, trapped, [p]inched to
pursed lips of pain. Sleep is
inter//rupted with each turn in
the bed. Neck, croOked to
facilitate ease of movement.
Lightning !buzzes! down the
arm. Hisses of thunder sound
with change of position. Rain
drops from my eyes, as tears.
A storm rages!! as I am slowly
pulled apart, one. Vertebra. At.
A. Time. Past the break.point ...

having sciatica, I know the feeling! I agree with Charlie, you sure do have great descriptive lines Karla! Please take care, and be better soon! My thoughts and prayers are with you!...ET
Having had a pinched nerve myself, I can truly feel your pain. And I truly hope better days are ahead. I had to go to a chiropractor for a very long time, to ease mine.
Oh Karla, so sorry you have this nagging pain, but sometimes we do have to learn how to live with pain that we wish so hard would just go away. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers....
a pinched never is a real thing if it's that... but I have found that neck pain and back pain is also real but sometimes no doctors can help. I hope you find help but I had to turn to special "Yoga" exercises to get help for my lower back (and it is helping) Still it's a struggle. I think if we didn't have to sleep it would be easier! You write about LIFE (pain & joy included!)
I agree with Bernice; you are a poetic genius. I can well relate to this one Karla. Pain has become part of my every awakening moment of late. Rheumatod arthritis flarring up throughout the whole body ain't no fun at all. They say misery loves company. Don't you believe it. I'll pray for you my friend. God bless.
Karla -this is such a powerful well written poem packed full of emotion which i empathise with as it storms off the page - may your faith keep you well and strong enough to find the peace and wellness you deserve - you are a fine poet and a woman of generous heart - a bright spirit, hope you are feeling better now, love to you, Nicky xx
