This went off in a completely different direction than what I intended, but I like it. Hope you do, too.

Poem Artwork

Last night, Summer tickled
the sky; lightning snickered
and thunder giggled as rain
laughed down my face.

Today, Winter's reality is a
stiff hand out of the North,
slapping until cheeks are red
with bitter tears.  I cry snow.

You, dear Karla, are a woman for all seasons. You reminded me of a
haiku of mine that appeared in one of the Japanese papers:

tasting winter
catching snow flakes

Wonderful poem, Karla. As a fellow Texan, I've noticed our weather sometimes goes from summer straight into winter. I hate when that happens. I want my autumn and spring back!

You are indeed a cloud-child, that's your name from me. One would think after writing so many of these you will be out of variations and imagination, but NO you definitely have just begun. I LOVE your style, always short, VERY original and beautiful.
