... A cloud shifts its load, dumps: ....

Poem Artwork

The
sky.  Is
falling.  Again.
A cloud shifts its
load, dumps:  an end
less train of wet.  And on
the other side of the tracks, a
child looks into the heated face
of the sun and begs for an end
to the drought that took the
grass and his Mommy two
years ago.  Ours verdant
with celebration of life
that is in the
rain ...

A drop of rain made of words? A tear? Or just a key hole to see the wonders beyond with the eyes of a child?

Very nice poem, Karla. I like your smooth transition from "An endless train of wet" to "the other side of the tracks."
We have had much RAIN this summer, but have to remember to thank God for it. It keeps those water tables healthy.

I love this poem Karla. Yesterday it was blue skies and 102 degrees here in my part of California. Today it's gray skies and the pitter patter of rain. Not enough to do any good, just enough to splatter summer's dust around.
Have a great day,

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
