Just God. And Me.

... eyes not caffeinated awake, but they're
not so blind they don't notice a sundog
nosing the morning sky:  he smells rain,

rain that hasn't fallen yet, but it will ----
maybe not today, but soon.  And look!
there are angels in the clouds!  Whisps

of cirrus unfold delicate wings against
the temple of blue, a holy hush of praise.
Birds not even up:  it's just God.  And me.
