phobia
"exaggerated fear"
"intolerance or aversion"
"irrational response"
yeah, right
try telling that to those
that have it
or are experiencing it
pounding heartbeat
choking feeling
sweating
nausea
dizziness
shakiness
tears
feeling we're going to die
passing out
you think we enjoy feeling like this
we don't
you think we are crazy
we're not
you just don't understand
you just don't understand
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have three real fears (phobias, if you will)--
storms (the biggie), being in tight places, &
spiders. it's not funny...i hate it.
phobias can affect all aspects of a person's
life...and many don't understand why we
react the way we do. WE sometimes don't
know why we react the way we do! We just...
do.
Cockroaches!! Definately my phobia! Did you ever have one run over your foot? Or your kid yelling "there's a roach on you, mom" and dancing the frantic dervish of utter revulsion? Did you ever feel something in your bed, and it was a roach? Uuugghhh, whew, calm...thanks for the shudders, karla, I do know how you feel, but I love storms, and, though spiders are pretty ooshy, I've learned to let that fear go, and I avoid tight spots! Hope you have as few of these experiences in the future!
so true; i am sorry you suffer from these phobias. it ISN'T funny, and i don't know why most think that you wigging out over a spider or being in a tight space is so hilarious and laugh at you. i am not fond of spiders either, and i don't much care for the storms or the tight spaces either; so i guess we're BOTH in the same boat! good write!! you spoke volumes for many!! love, your (phobic) twin, karen lynn. (((HUGS))) ;O
