To Win The Battle

For those going through rough times, I
dedicate this poem. I know...I've been
there, too.

No one said that it would be easy
No one said there wouldn't be pain
No one said that it wouldn't hurt
No one said there wouldn't be strain

When your heart lies in pieces at your feet
When your entire world comes crashing down
Pick yourself up, don't give in to defeat
To win the battle, just march steadily on

No one said wouldn't be loss
No one said there wouldn't be tears
No one said it would last forever
No one promised a banner year

When your friends have all left, you're all alone
You feel like you're lost, and that no one cares
Pick yourself up through the trials unknown
To win the battle, just turn to God in prayer

No one said there wouldn't be storms
No one said it would stay sunny
No one said there wouldn't be rain
No one can give a guarantee

When you're frightened, more than ever before
When the lightning makes you cower in fear
Pick yourself up, rise to your feet once more
To win the battle, remember all storms clear

No one said it would be easy
No one said there wouldn't be pain
No one said that it wouldn't hurt
Pick yourself up, again, again

Well as Robert the Bruce once said, if at first you don't succeed try, try again, it worked for him.

I must echoe Cassandra's AMEN, Karla. Very wise words well penned. By the way, thank you for your kind review of "Even Ferrets Obey." They are a mixed bag mischief and fun. Love in Christ~~ Bonnie Q

There never is darkness where there is not light... and even where despair seems to rule absolutely, there is allways hope. Your poem, and your courage, embody, with your permanent smile through all tears, this wonderful truth, my dear, sweet friend.
