Karla, very good write. It's awful that some children are abused.
I'm a retired teacher. Often I thought, my cats have a better home than some of the children in my classroom. People ought to be trained on how to care for each other before they become husbands, wives, or parents. This should be made as important as the three R's.

Daddy keeps hitting even if you haven't done anything wrong. He is an adult, he is strong and he pays all the bills. He has to find a way to vent the spleen. That is his ungodly previledge.`Thank you Karla, my sister and friend in America. Excellent poem

My dad found it necessary to use a 2x4 on me, but I would not allow it on my brother so I had to punish him myself, rather than let him get bruised and beaten like I did when young...my friends used to ask, why do you scream like that, your just getting a beating, they didnt know what I was being beaten with...no one ever knew, till I got older...this is a powerful write, Karla, it brought back memories of the very young me...not good ones, but still it may help others in the future...Find Peace, Ed & Rufuz
