There are 2 songs titled Stand By Me that I know of. The more famous was recorded by Ben King and John Lennon. The other one, a spiritual or traditional song, was recorded by Elvis Presley(and who knows who else) on his gospel album "How Great Thou Art." Elvis's song is one of my favorite gospel songs and I listen to it often. Here, I submit 2 more verses I wrote. I understand someone named Charles Tindley wrote the 2 verses Elvis sings. Hope you like them.
"Verse 3"
When a brother makes my heart ache
Stand by me
When a brother makes my heart ache
Stand by me
When a child of mine is lost
When I'm bearing every cost
Thou who moves the moon and stars
Stand by me
"Verse 4"
When I feel the grip of evil
Stand by me
When I feel the grip of evil
Stand by me
When this world seduces me
With its charm and trickery
Thou whose arms are everlasting
Stand by me
Thou whose arms are everlasting
Stand by me
