Distant Shores
I can see thy there, standing on
The other side of the lake,
Staring back at me from a distance
And leaving me to wonder, are
Thy real or but a dream?
Leave me bewildered, thy do!
My thoughts drift like clouds
Through the blue skies, with
Thoughts of thy mysteries
Thick like a plague I wish not
To be healed of.
Thy lips move, in slow motion,
Taking forever to form words,
Which I cannot hear across the
Crashing of invisible waves.
Am I truly that naïve, as not
To know dream from reality?
Are thy truly there, calling to me
From that distant shore,
Or am I fevered with grandure
… Once more.
