Trojan Love
This heart is a house made of glass,
Shattering into a thousand shards
Upon which I tread. Bloodied foot
Prints lead away from this travesty,
Fading in the distance as I walk away
From this heartache. With no glance
Back over a shoulder, I take to the path,
Finishing this journey, alone, with only
My words of undying love. Perhaps I
Gave too freely, of this soul, of this
Heart, which now bleeds the darkest
Reds of flowing blood. Wear not, upon
Thy sleeve, I tell myself in reverie, lest
Not suffer anguish. Rebuild the walls
Which have fallen asunder at the hand
Of a Trojan.
