Don’t Wake Me

I gently rock, not quite asleep
No longer touching reality
This passing realm, so short and sweet
As I let myself be free
Wanting to stay in this twilight
Right before sleep and dreams
I consciously take my mind
To a land of trees and streams
Lying near the water
Your arms holding me close
Warm, relaxed, and peaceful
I savor this fanciful doze
Gentle breezes and dancing leaves
The skies above so blue
Taking my heart and soul
On a momentary respite with you
I feel your breath and even smell you
Onto that I grasp and hold
For in your arms I am at rest
And for a moment my heart is consoled
Sleep comes and I draw you in
Abandoning all my woes
Don’t wake me, don’t draw me back
Let me enjoy this sweet repose

Who would not want to be drawn in to such a wonderful and peaceful repose. Waterfalls are so refreshing as is your pic.

I can quite comprehend why you'd not want to leave such a "place," RaeLynn. Thanks for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Rae you have captured such a luxurious peace of body and mind and offered it to us to rest beside with you. I can picture a warm late summer afternoon on a blanket by that waterfall of soft words and gentle touches...borderline sensuality in a dream. More please...

I love this! To be in your loved one's arms, whether in reality or in a dream is sooooo comforting.

I know you put your heart and soul into this AND it shows.

All my love,
Kathy
