Bittersweet Journey

My sister called today and said my biological mother is dying.......

Tomorrow, I get on a plane
to travel to the state of Maine
not for lobsters or for fun
but I must go to see someone
the woman dear who gave me life
then gave me up because of strife
I met her only this past year
but in my heart she is so dear
forty years I searched then found
her and my sister....
my sister looks so much like me
and gave to me a family tree
so now I know from whence I came
and proud I am to know the name
Indian Chieftans from long ago
who once were hunters in the snow
they were always there for me ya know
the shadowded stirings in my soul
brought to me by mountain top musings
and talks with God.....

tomorrow I get on a plane......
and hope somehow to ease the pain

Walt

God bless you and your mother and God speed. This dear woman gave you the passion you carry today and the wisdom of our earth brothers. She explains a lot about you.
Love and prayers,
Susan

Wow Walt I think this is a fantastic opportunity for you and I wish you the best. We have adopted three children into our family and it meant a lot to each of them to know of their other siblings and they have come to love their extended family. Wish you the best.... Rose

Well, you've had a big share of what can happen in life. I sincerely wish you very well, and I do like that poem even though it came at a cost. Don't they all? Hold with God for peace in your soul...Jerry

Well I hope that experience worked out for the best, Walt. Whenever I think of Maine, I think of one of my favorite writers, Stephen King. Thank you, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Regis

The path we end up taking through this life is often cleared ahead of us by unseen forces and spirits and it seems to me that to be able to finally meet your family was pre-ordained a long time ago. Enjoy your reunion and find peace in your heart.
