I wrote this while going with a sistah, who would do for me. Yet, she didn't really know what my soul needed.

I'm Cold

I told you I was cold and you went and turned up the heat.

I wonder if it ever occurred to you
that it was the warmth of your mind I seek.

Again I said "Lady I'm cold"
and you went and got me a blanket.
My heart began to break my mind began to wonder and then I cried for goodness sake.

I said "Sweet Heart I'm cold" you went and got me some socks my mind went on a journey and with every heart beat
my heart slowly turned its lock.

"I'm cold baby girl, can you hear me?"
Do you even know what I mean?
Your lack of understanding has been going on for some time you don't comprehend this so it seems.

I'm cold, please understand; reach out to me as a man show me you care.
Talk to me not at me let me know you are there and that nothing comes before me.

I'm cold Sweetheart and what do you do
you go and buy some electric heat.

So because I ask to much, you gather your things. And you don't get it, so it seems.

I then see you walk away in defeat, and I still am left cold.
