Pale light shines in the early dawn the lonely patriot walks among the slain closing the eyes of those he knew those he walked with those he loved Brave spirits all gathered to fight their flags and muskets raised in glory battling to gain their freedom gain independence gain their lives Blood shed on verdant hills and valleys independent souls struggling for breath lives lost for lives to save lives to cherish lives lived free ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elizabeth Galvez �2002 Elizabeth Galvez ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
