Did I Wish You Well

Hey, buddy, where ya go

Sal, you left me in the cold

I was caught clueless, by your sudden departure

I got to admit, it stung a little

Last week was it, your last workday

I wish I would have know

Now, I am racking my brain

Did I wish you well, Sal As you headed out the door

On your way to something more

Your two-week notice given

Now a yesterday

I am thinking maybe

You were just afraid, you would get all sappy

Hurt your image, tough guy and all

What with the kids all around,

Therefore, I guess, no more shooting the breeze

Stories of families, of Boccce ball champions

Of the old country, great food, good times

Of a sister -in-law with child

Oh well, anyway

I wish you well

My friend
