Melting Away

Sometimes it feels, as if I am melting

Away

My icy shell, melting

Slowly slipping away

Drip by drip

Into a nothingness being my fate

A puddle forming

My spirit a shadow

Fading into dirt

My essence puddling

Drip by drip

No trace of my existence

Not an outline where I stood

A melted snowman

Back to earth

Up to the clouds I return

Above

Another cycle repeated

Returning as snow flakes

Gathered up and formed

A snowball

Tossed by

Some punk ass kid

Into the side of a moving bus

Splattered against the window

Of all those commuter people

Going home, from another long day

Empty stares into

Darkness

Well now, quite the visual you painted here. A sad metaphoric soaked piece. Nicely done.

I remember a moment after my husband's death when I imagined all the tears I'd shed being a puddle that would evaporate.. and I remember thinking this was all that left of me. Anyway.. wonderful poem!

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
