One of  the Fallen

As I pass
through this place
this tree cemetery
no……….more like a tree
purgatory

I hear, as they so
quietly, bend
breaking slowly
away,  from
the green
forest they once
knew

Swaying gently in the
 morning
their fate, determined
4 summers ago
as they stood in the path
of a raging furry
swept away by the fire

standing now
 alone
yet with others
stripped bare
a forest no more
replaced with shades of gray
emptiness

Charred
Blackened trunks
fleshy bark
peeling away
 exposing, the
silvery underbelly
snowy white
 in the glaring sun

Now a, useless
 wind whistle
hollow and empty
outstretched arms, sounding fluted
mournful notes
skyward

In the evening breeze
the useless diseased   fingers
breaking away
watching the sunsets
counting days
till, summers end, each
 shadow growing
smaller season by season
day by day

Until, the crash
dragged down
crushed
 by their own weight
along side
left to rest
one

Of the fallen
ones

fallen seems to be a theme of alte; so allegorical you write; of life, of love, of loss, of resurrection. . .. life circling. ..
i love your writes.
they let me stretch and breathe.

I was just thinking/writing about the same thing the other day. You can't help but look at "one of the fallen ones" and imagine what it must have been like. The trees take on characters-- become ents in our eyes, so tall, majestic, and permanent, and then FIRE! Ashes, ashes, they all fall down... it is sad. --Charlie

Stan, wouldn't it be great if new life could
emerge from the ashes alongside the fallen ones?

I've wandered through many tree cemeteries, and it always makes me very sad.

And I read your latest blog, sounds like quite a trip, my friend.

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
