Brother Sister dear,
Once you were so near,
Knew you front and rear,
With you shared a laugh and tear,
Now you’re old and withered,
By time and life embittered,
Staying close we frittered,
Away the time we littered,
And now from ancient times,
Share now and then some lines,
Speak in riddles and in rhymes,
Gone the thongs that binds
Time forever breaks asunder,
The ties that bind no wonder,
We participated in this blunder,
Then go six feet under,
Ancient fears will not break time,
Are they yours or be they mine,
We sip the last of summer wine,
One sip left, one last line!
