Sour grapes!

Down in the deep under three feet of white

Soft footsteps wander near

Then they stop their stride

Something rattles in a box

I hope I’m not mistaken

Could be a wily fox

But then I thought no way

I know it was a man,

No fox this close would stay

Ah, I got it, a man and his dog

Slowly now they walk away

Downhill toward the bog

A signal now, my nose does twitch

This could be my lucky day

Now, that would be a switch

Not a stalk of green to get

In this vast world of white

Hungry from the last meal yet

My senses on alert

Creep upward through the tunnel deep

No other sound I heard

Look at this; a dream come true

Raisin cereal in splendour lay

Such lucky days are few

To reading letters I’m not inclined

If any left a poem write

On a b c have dined

This is a happy day

And all went well and fine

But then that thieving jay

He asked me how is tricks

Is that cereal good?

While in his peak it sticks

And after munching for a time

I hit a sour note

This raisin far from fine

I rushed some learning to devour

Stick with eating abc

These raisins are to sour!

And with these sour grapes

I wrote a thank you note

Come back again you apes!

In his haste maybe he ate one of his own raisins. That image came to mind, of the rabbit spitting and cussing.

Cute, that rabbit is adorable! Your expressions so aptly versed within the background of a winter wonderland. Maybe a few fresh carrots might do the trick, that is what we put out, besides a sprinkling of rabbit food from the vet.....

Be safe,
Karen

Poor bunny!!!! That pic, too cute. As is this write. The old adage comes to mind: life hands you lemons, make lemonade. :) Well done, Jasmin, friend to four legged, winged creatures and to poets like me!

Merry Christmas,

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
