Is it just envy ha,

Living in the now!

Stretched out like a rag doll,
Hind foot hanging out over his basket,
Tongue hanging out, like a wet paper roll,
Totally gone, snoring he is cradled in his casket,
Me thinks, he’s dead, just look at this,
Like a rag doll limb and waste,
Don’t want to wake him with a kiss,
Or anything else in wanton haste,
If he’s not dead, then probably I would,
If not careful, cause him to startle,
Cause him a stroke, that not is good,
Look at him, like a slab of marble,
Not a twitch, no bad dreams,
Just breathing easy, deep,
Dead to the world it seems,

Now this is what I call sleep,
No wonder he’s all chipper,
In ungodly morning light,
Playing with my slipper,
Wide awake and bright,
Me, the fool, gets up instead,
Shaking off, thoughts bad dreams,
Drag my ass out of bed,
While he simply beams,
Twisted, turned, all night from side to side,
To right all wrongs that in the day,
Turned on, and off, the light,
Joining in the nightmares fray,

Demons of the night my mind do stoke,
Prod me on and on,
Many times I had awoke,
New sequences would spawn,
On the other hand, it’s easy to see, he doesn’t worry about,
Seals, puppy mills, kittens on the street,
In his dreams, never talks aloud,
Just dreaming about next days treat,
Innocent like a smiling child,
There he lays in bliss again,
His tummy full, more sleep beguiled,
To sleep some more, not from rest refrain,
For a good nights sleep I’d trade with him,
No need for me, for sleep to pray,
Though I find my chances slim,
Not like him, up all night to stay.

And many more sleepless nights are ahead for those that care.
It should be the other way around! ! !
We should take off the words, gentle, compassionate, caring...from the dictionaries.

Sleepless? A hot cup of chamomile tea might help at bedtime...or bring the li'l rascal up on your bed to cuddle - my cats ofttimes do wonders for my rest :o)

Happier dreams!
