The corporate preacher!
Suave, and speaking in tongues,
In gauche suits, and boots,
With his flair he holds the throng,
Raptures his preaching song,
Like little Adolph on the stage,
The audience in a gage,
War with words he wage,
Wise as an old sage,
Those words of wisdom took,
Out of Gods good book,
But he forgot to look,
The meaning he forsook,
No corporate jets, did Jesus use to preach,
When word of mouth was within reach,
Nor by preaching, but example did he teach,
Or put on a showman’s kitsch,
No foot massage or hair salon,
Or islands in the sun,
Or from the taxman on the run,
Holiness was not made fun,
Slick and suave not made his day,
To save some souls, he’d join the fray,
All he had he gave away,
His love, his life, that wasn’t play,
How dare you, so called brethren of the book,
Not enough, he once his life forsook,
To save your soul, but not, by hook and crock,
If you want, to live like him, take another look!

Humble is the word from Jesus. No flash pans!
Well done!

Far too many of these types today, both in politics and on pulpits. And why I grow so very weary of both church and state, today.
