So!
So lonesome, in the heart am I,
Lost another little friend,
That couldn’t fly,
His broken wings, I could not mend,
And so alone, my heart does cry,
Like a short song, it’s little life,
Again, I ask the God’s, but why,
Its last breath, it was such strife,
My heart it trembled, seeking help, in vain,
No help it ask of me, that little sparrow,
Yet I felt its struggle, and its pain,
I felt its pain, into my marrow,
Its last sweet cry and beep,
Such sweet, such little voice,
Into my heart did seep,
I’d give my life, had I the choice,
Still dark in early morn,
Chill lay in the air,
To check on it, sojourn,
If no one hurt a hair,
But cold not just the morning mist,
But its body small,
Has not felt, when I it kissed,
For its little head did fall,
Slumped to the side, its eyes now closed,
The little body resting stiff,
To keep it warm, I had it clothed,
With rags, and cotton, just in case and if,
A perch of silver lantern,
His last, and now, forever rest,
With tears, the earth did turn,
Its soul now, with the best,
I placed a poem, to take along,
Of love, a note of thank you little friend,
Your last note, your sweet song,
My heart’s so sad, yours could not mend,
In mother earth, I put your Urn,
A flat stone, onto, to keep you safe,
To rest in peace, but yet I yearn,
To be with you, were only I so brave,
Love you little sparrow sweet,
Soon be with you, and, little Jas,
Bring along some food and treat,
Just the time to pass,
A lantern placed beside the stone,
It will light your space,
Reminds me, you’re not gone, but home,
To God, your makers place!

But it was a heart wrenching poem.
