Perfectly healthy specimen, are made sick and suffer, to make perfectly unhealthy specimen healthy, apparently,
Dr. Mengele I'm sure you know who he was, and Dr. Frankenstein, neither of them Angels, ( Engel,)( Engele, endearment of the same) I guess if you can't scream in our language, being used and hurt, does not rile any human sensibilities, except for mine and a few others, no matter I would dispute, as have many ethicist that this practice of using others in such ways for our miseries is wrong, as it certainly was wrong, when used on humans. I won't go as far as courages ethicist have suggested, and won't mention it here, but if you are interested follow the subject matter yourself, you will be surprised, as I was.

Higher Learning!

The son of Dr. Mengele,
Dr Frankenstein, none of them an Engele,
Have they arrived at Oxford U?
Different sort of experiment they do,
Now instead of race, a different species,
They practice on, to write their thesis,
It’s just a mouse, they say, or just a monkey,
Not an elephant or donkey,
We do it for your very own good,
Your concerns are just all moods,
We don’t hurt them for our pleasure,
We consider them a treasure,
The best facilities we have, and, do sustain,
We take good care, when they’re in pain,
Yes, we do, enjoy our work, the pay is good,
Some day, our research will bear some fruit,
That sheep that baaed, a while ago,
Well, it had to go,
We only use the best,
With Prime specimens, we are blessed,
Not shy of funds are we,
All are funded, guess by whom? The university,
Oxford that is, the pride and best of all,
For every creature, we have a stall,
The dorms, no, they’re now of limits,
Besides the students are too timid,
Since Nuerenberg we have to watch our way,
In what we do, or what we say,
Just the little animals we do,
The don’t talk, so, no one has a clue,
Fantastic work this is my friend,
Plenty of it, and without end,
Ach, its just critters, why cry boo hoo,
So they suffer, what can one do?

Jasmin Horst, I fear you'll never run out of topics...but I am so glad and grateful that you speak out the way you do!

thank you,

There are some people who cannot or won't empathize with other people or animals. It's easy for them to buy into the idea that the pain they are delivering is not being felt and is inconsequential. It's a crying shame.
Best regards,
Leland

Not too long time ago, doctors learning the surgery trade needed cadavers from the hospitals, when they couldn't supplay they sorted to grave robbers, and the grave robbers when there weren't fresh corpses went murderers to supply the good doctors the means to learn how to be good for us.
Times aren't changed, we do it with animals now.

Georg

And we are just men, but far too many like to act like gods. And I often sadly wonder what the real God thinks of we extremely cruel and callous human beings.

These horrid experiments still go on no matter what we think or say and it goes on everywhere. One would think that in today's day and age this practice would be obsolete....

Be always safe,

You speak so well for the least of us Jasmin,I believe you and Ed have been given the task by Creator, and you both are blessed!
The question I ask about the use of animals for reasearch, with all our intelligence and those who are so gifted in research, why can't they find a better way? They don't even try, because it's too easy to continue in the old traditions that don't have to be studied.
There must be another way...

Love,
Eileen

Ok, so the Dr. Frankensteins of medical science do what they do in
the name of humankind. And to make the obscenely rich drug companies richer. After all, the so-called dumb animals are oblivious to the pain and hurt if you stick them, puncture them, cut them, break them, or eviscerate them. Just ask them. But don't watch the process on a full stomach. Or a sensitive conscious. After all, the Phizers have to have something to shoot those little magic bullets into.

Jasmin,

I admire you being an animal activist. These creatures cannot speak for themselves, someone has to give them a voice, you do that so well.

Years ago I was accepted for an administrative position for the research department of a leading hospital. It was a very good paying job and I was overjoyed at being selected. Then I found out what went on behind the doors: animals of all kinds sacrificed in the curelest ways imaginable all in the name of science. I walked out half way through the first day. The disgust lives with me even now so I really relate to our excellent poem. Thank you for writing it.
