Out protesting for PETA in front of a Bay Dept. store downtown, wearing Jack the Ripper outfit, not that I wont be soon enough in the real one, I can only tell you one thing, there are some pretty callous people out there, like this lady friend said after spending some time in the middle east, there is some good in everyone, but then she said, you haven't met everyone yet, after this experience today I would agree totally.
*How bizzarro does it get?* *Common decency put to the test,* *Staying home I would prefer,* *Instead I protest fur,* *Protest the wilful killings,* *Of little pets and furry things* *And little creatures small,* *Tomorrow at a mall,* *Haunting passer-by’s, and owners too,* *Wear fur and such like in a zoo,* *With luck catch here and there a soul,* *One of a hundred is my goal,* *The only way it seems to me,* *Give all a chance to see,* *How cruel we can be,* *The almighty buck, the money,* *It’s dead wrong to hurt someone,* *Be it knife, or trap, or gun,* *Especially little precious creatures small,* *And if I can this process stall,* *I believe deep in my heart,* *That’s is to do my part,* *It’s not much, but it will count,* *Five hundred in a gram will make one pound,* *My hope is many more will join,* *And sooner or later will drop that coin,* *Enlightenment takes place and hope,* *And help them creatures to elope,* *And if not, and all the creatures gone,* *From this world to the next some dawn,* *No more left, to kill, to sell, enslave, or hurt,* *What will replace their lust?* *Will it be that little child, that little squirt?* *Dressed in baskets all in pink, will it be hurt?* *Think long, and hard, and deep my friends,* *Unless you fight, this how it ends?* *It’s only a ……………….you know who,* *And then a gypsy or a Jew,* *When they are gone,* *It’s only you!* *Think hard my friends!* *If no one them defends?* *Think hard and deep,* *Don’t just pray before you sleep,* *One tiny thing, that you can do,* *Just one or even two,* *A penny in the tin,* *For little RinTinTin* *©06/03/2009*

I see you are wearing the fighting gloves, no protest is empty no protest is enough, but as they said...if the screams don't make you to realize their pain, it will make you deaf!

Mankind has yet to learn that being the top of the mental food chain doesn't mean we get to eat or wear everything else, or that dominion over the world doesn't mean destroying in it means protecting and caring for it as if our lives depended on it because it does.

Jasmin,
They say animals don't have a voice but they do in you and many others like you. I detest the thought of animals being abused or used. I do think we've come a long way, though, thanks to activists. Just recently, I read a novel written in the early 1900's. Continuous references to drowning unwanted kittens made my soul flinch. I think the laws concerning animal abuse/testing should carry higher penalties. This poem is great for spreading awareness! Love and Hugs,
