It's pretty cold today, unkind weather, it'll be wormer on Sunday though, going up the hill to meet the politicians under protest, there be a lot of hot air drifting of the mikes I bet.

Only one response I got,
From the highfalutin crop,
Up there on the hill,
The one with all the swill,
I guess they’re busy swilling,
To take a break not willing,
From what I heard so far,
Not at all can they agree,
If sealing is an industry,
I could’ve told you right out blank,
That, if it’s money in the bank,
An industry, it must be,
Put money in the bank you see,
But so did Al Capone,
An industry of different sort,
Murder and evading taxes,
Of that he made much sport,
The scale of killings not as large,
As those that come in barge,
Neither did he take their hide,
Some decency he did abide,
Anyway their still discussing,
And for a while be fussing,
That doesn’t take away the meaning,
You’re off their hides them cleaning,
Of this cruel sin your guilty friends
No matter how your words you bends,
Accomplice to the fact,
Send out your goons to act,
Give them a cut of revenue,
For the dirty work they do,
And put the rest then in the till,
Bon appetite, with all that swill,
I hope you choke on this, you do,
This god forsaken stew,
In my name, and all the other decent folk out there,
Neither wants your sins, nor money share.

I had hoped that long ago they stopped the slaying of the seals, mature and babies, but it seems to be getting worse today. What industry is it that cant do without the seal skin and fur? And I don't believe they are reproducing at an alarming rate (a political guize: just "thinning" 'em out),
Wonderful message in your poem, JD. Let's keep at 'em...

You describe modern day politics, quite well. At least you got one response, I often don't get any.

With the world population getting larger and larger I wonder when we will go back to be cannibals again.
Just a thought.
