Hold her close while you can!

You did your best,
Survived hard labour,
Imprisonment of time,
Who would have guessed?
You did not know,
From A to B,
A perfect mother be,
Learning on the job was slow,
The wear and tear began to show,
Running here and running there,
All she had to share,
Always on the go,
All her time she gave,
To raise them till their grown,
Now parents of their own,
She rests now in her grave.©

A tribute to every mother, living or no longer with us. Motherhood is a forever thing, from cradle to the grave and beyond. We are blessed to have them, to be them, to love and cherish them, to receive from them. A brilliant capture of lives that blossom in the fullness of giving to others. TY Jasmin. Kate xx

The cycle of life seems cruel somehow and you have captured it in a fine tribute poem.

Wonderful ode to Mothers sacrifices. She often gives what she has, be it little or be it much, but she gives until she's gone, and dust to dust she resides. Excellent poem. J'nia

Jasmin,
Beautifully said with a real ring of truth, the toughness of being a mother, carer, nurse, cook, washer and the thousand other roles mothers take on. Are we always grateful for their great sacrifices?
Thank you for this fine tribute.

You've said it very well, Jasmin, the traits common of the good mother on this Mother's Day, "Learning on the job was slow." Actually it's the trait of all of us. We have references and history to go by, but all we can ever do is our best at the moment given our imperfections, and hope we have left behind children who will improve the next generation. Very poignant, the memory of her personal effort and loving personality--and I hope it's only her physical remains in that grave, and she's gone on...........Jerry
