Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe never again, I'm sure you know the feeling.........

Can you tell me why?
Don’t feel like sharing any more,
Don’t even want to try,
Vanished has the lore,

I don’t know, I’m asking you,
It just happened over night,
What is a man to do?
Strange as it seems it might,

Things that turn my crank,
Powers that move the pen,
Put now safely in a bank,
And not on Authors Den,

Is it fatigue you think?
Or the critiques pain,
Maybe standing at the brink,
And going near insane,

I don’t know for certain,
Might it be, I have, or not,
Been too much a burden,
On all of you, the lot,

In any case, I need a rest,
I will not bother till,
New passions have me blessed,
New tears and laughter filled my quill,

But at the moment I do idle,
Protesting though I might,
Loosely hold the bridle,
Until, with new eyes see the light,

Should it not pass, that pen and ink?
Flirt again with veils of seven,
In thought I will not break the link,
For Authors Den, and you my friends, was heaven.©

Jasmin, Come on back when you're ready. I'll will tell you that the one the single review that changed every thing for me was from Ed & Rufuz. His comment, better not to be always so grim(sy). He was so right. Your pursuit is flush with the grimmest of mankind's offerings, all so necessary to expose. But without balance, even superman fails. Take some time off from grim(sy) and have some fun writing. Everything else will take care of itself for now. Patrick

Jasmin, it is natural to feel depleted now and then...rest up and don'y worry about a thing...yu may rest on your laurels in good conscience...you engage so fiercely and totally in your causes, it is not surprising that you must take a break

It will all come back to you, stronger than before. Be safe and well you will be missed. Rest your mind and heart and come back to us soon.

We all go through this, Jasmin. It's called "burn-out". Or there are times when you have to go within and that means withdrawing. Sometimes I can't bring myself to review, let alone write. Take a break, but do come back. You are unique in all the Den. Looking forward to reading what you've seen with "new eyes" when you return...

Hugs, Lin

Exquisitely penned. Sounds like you are needing to be filled once again so you can grace us with your presence and your wonderful mind once again. Via con Dios my friend. J'nia

I echo all the others, Jasmin. Don't you ever quit. You're needed. I couldn't do without reading your, or seeing your comments on my stuff. Bear Paw's right--sounds like fatigue. What a peculiar thing when I've noticed you getting younger all the time.........Jerry

Listen-up dear Jasmin, you need to be refreshed, that's all,so don't go talking nonsense about not coming back! You are a superb poet, and write of worthy matters, if God is using you how can you quit!?! I know you can't! Everyone reaches a blank wall after writing as much as you have, rest do something else for awhile, and you'll see how quickly you'll return!;-) Love you!Eileen

We all get 'that feeling,' my friend. I had it this past weekend, so I took off for a little R&R. Works every time, especially if I spend some time in nature.

Jasmin my friend, I know what you are feeling, I myself thought that if I lighted a match and threw it on the dry grass I would ignite a roaring fire which will be multiplied with every e-mail forwarded to more and more addresses about the plight of our Veterans.
And you know what, the match felt on the grass alright, but people has been pissing over it for so long that the grass didn't started to burn.
Letter to the President, here, in AD, got three (3) responses, never took off (hope my neighbor's neighbor do it) never was there an spontaneous storm of e-mails but a "will never happen"
When a tree fells on an empty forest nobody ears it no matter how loud a noise it made.

The curse or bain of any writer are those dry spells that attack us now and then and the reality is often it is just our muse's way of saying...take a break, you've earened it.

You'll be back, I think everyone gets to feeling that way every now and again, I had even wanted to leave AD just cause, I guess, I was feeling like you...be looking forward to your triumphant return...Ed & Rufuz

Jasmin,
You'll always be here; the very fact that you can write about a dry spell means there isn't one. Never give up, you're so much better than that.
