He clambered up that certain apple tree,
To see what he could see,
A peek he’d take behind these certain,
To see if girls there were, for flirting,
A snake though bit him where it hurt,
Says he, no one with my dames does flirt,
Undeterred he kept on climbing,
Though his limb now pining,
With book of poetry in hand,
He thought for sure a dame he’d land,
And I am certain that he would,
Should they, at his poems take a look,
Heavens curtain just ajar,
Some old geezer watched him from afar,
Do they ever learn he says?
He played voyeur, he did confess,
And to be certain of his game,
An apple to that tree he’d frame,
Georg in amorous delight,
As Eva stepped out into sight,
It wasn’t long while neath that tree,
He would recite his poetry,
And as in days gone by of old,
An apple in her hand she’d hold,
It wasn’t long he’d take a bite,
While his chess partner, hid out of sight,
Bad enough he sinned on earth,
He thought, but that is sure his dearth,
Now in heaven does he sin,
Can he ever win?©07/06/2010
