The knocker on your door bangs loud
And your heart it beats with fright
This wouldn't normally worry you
But it's the middle of the night
"Who's there?" you bravely shout out
But there's no answer to your call
And you're sweating most profusely now
As you tiptoe down the hall
You peer out through a half closed blind
To the front door, one floor down
But as your eyes, they focus hard
You can see no-one around
Your palms are almost dripping now
And you wish you had a gun
But you're wife would not allow it
Now some maniac will have his fun
So you bravely look through the peephole
But you see only swirling rain
And the wind that blew your knocker once
Well, it blows and knocks again
So you close the door and go to bed
It was just those bloody winds
While the madman hiding in your hedge
Knocks your door again, and grins
