Verdant Green

The thunder passed,

rumbling as if annoyed

The lightning flashed,

to tease his wraith

The grass so verdant,

delighted it greened,

even with sprinkles,

She came,

so suddenly to wash

the daylight away

So gray the clouds,

in the distance

her color was blue-black,

her hair fleecy white,

The plants now so green,

smiling at the thought

of a soothing rain,

She would come again,

moaning and a great passion

arose, fierce within her

The lightning would bolt,

to enrich, to embolden,

This mother earth,

to birth again a garden,

with which all creatures,

great and small could survive

in a verdant green,

The sun would come again,

to arise with great fury,

to shine upon her smiling face,

She would look upon him,

her earth so blue,

and as a lover would,

embrace her
