Shadow Souls They stand in the shadows waiting to melt from the heat They can�t stand the light so their lives are incomplete their poverty born in the streets The lonely ones are awash in blood hiding in the dark They melt into midnight to forget their sorrow they can�t escape the light They stand in the shadows � CJ Clark

I was touched by the profundity in this poem. Loneliness is a dark shadow. And the light does appear, but sometimes, darkness offers a delusion of comfort. I enjoyed reading this poem. Thank you for sharing your wonderful insight.

Quite a sad a depiction of life of the poor and needy in today's secular society...still blessed are the poor ...for they shall inherit the earth...
