Tear Streaked Sky

I awaken in the tear streaked sky,

The dream had played heart strings

in my memory

I’m the mute poet,

My pages are torn

smeared blood red

The ink runs into your hands,

holding my heart beating,

leaving me no mercy

I awaken,

blinded by the light

The sun shining upon me

I’m the mute poet

and the pages are wind blown

The ink is dry

My muse won’t speak,

She’s left me verse less

I dream of yesteryear,

when youth smiled brightly,

midnight, I wasn’t afraid

As I turn the pages,

My fingers ink stained

A red blood beating,

We are floating in our dreams

The pages torn

I’m the mute poet,

in the tear streaked sky

The motif is played all the way through, appropriately! If you like the "free style" of Bukowski you should try Rimbaud. He was the original "free styler"

You are not mute.....your words speak, they seduce, they invite thought, and they leave plenty of space between the lines, for the reader to fill in with their own reactions.......bravo.....pax A

This is certainly melancholy. The descriptions are vivid. The emotion are dark and Gothic. this is visionary and filled with poignant emotions. impressive write.
