this has some class of Poe with the evermore and nevermore but there is much wisdom here. There are a lot of things that are passing. But I think youth is eternal. Yes, looks may say otherwise but the mind is powerful and often what you think is real. Perception is reality but acceptance is the first step to finding wisdom. Excellent write.
Love Sue's comment below... perspective is everything and a major key to youth either "staying with you" or "fleeing away", taking time and circumstances with her. Mentally, we can be as old as we feel - but try convincing your body of the same thing! This whole issue is scary, it seems to me... I have never heard of anyone who has, through experience, found that they have, in actual fact, been able to "grow old gracefully". It seems to me that youth stays with us - until overnight she suddenly takes her leave: SHE calls the tune as to when "evermore" turns instead to "nevermore". Dale, All my children are in their twenties, and from the time they were teens, I've felt like they believe they are invinceable. It scares me, now that my youth has been gone for many years, but I wonder if my parents thought the same about me?
