River of Life We stand watching the ships A barge full of cargo The mists off the river ellude the brevity of motion The translucent water magnifies its power sluggish though the night We hear the reeds rustle We survey the horizon looking for the light We look up at the stars at the golden fields of heaven A bevy of lifetimes have traversed this river A slip of a moon shines in a obsidian haze � CJ Clark

yes, I think life moves like a river as does this poem. The comparisons between life and the river are superb.
