An Artists' Eyes

An artist eyes
sees' longing
in their hearts
watching clouds drift by
forming thunderheads,
lightning flashes,
thunder rumbles in the distance,
They longed only for a soft breeze
to whisper to

An artist paints,
the pain hiding, in the shadows,
crowding the corners of the mind,
awaiting darkness,
The storm clouds bring harsh wind
and dark clouds,
no rain, just dry lightning
for the thirsty souls,
awaiting a sunny day

An artists' palette
colors summer, gives way to fall
cold and blustery,
The leaves fall in beautiful hues,
autumn colors for the palette,
eventually covered in snow
The winter has domain,
A life is winding down,
death is in the clouds

An artists' brush
is frozen in my heart,
longing for flowers blooming,
stroking beauty and warmth
in colorful motions
An artist captures it true ,
the joy and happiness,
yet it turns cold
breaking their hearts

An artist sees'
The aqua blue water,
now covered in ice,
Spring is fighting
for our rebirth
The pain is virulent,
bringing sounds of death,
hiding in the shadows of the soul

An artist captures
closure, amidst the shadows,
creating a blissful sleep
in rebirth, so heavenly
He brushes and strokes
colors, to hide the pain
from the souls,
that lie dreaming,
sleeping in their graves

An artists' eyes,
brings the sun rise,
longing to lie in loves embrace
The sunbeams play,
in colorful melody
A symphony of summer,
to warm the souls
watching the clouds
form their masterpieces

I could relate to this. My father is an artist, and when I mimicked him as a child, trying to create my own little drawings and paintings, I soon realized that his eyes see differently than most. That by recreating, we see differently, much more intensely, and that until I tried to draw something... I had never really seen it before.

The continuing fixation with death and dying throughout this poem was apropo and real, until, of course the end when the warmth of spring comes to play. Good.
